This course is for delegates who use safety harness and lanyards at work. It gives an understanding of the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005, including safe selection, storage, use and inspection of harnesses and lanyards.

A high proportion of discussion and group participation, supplemented with video and classroom based tutorials and a practical exercise.

- Delegates attending this course should be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigours of training.
- The content of this course includes awareness of periodic examinations of equipment.
- The course does not provide full training in maintenance of equipment.
- Additional training relating to this subject may be of benefit to delegates (further information available upon request).
- For training held at your own location please ensure you make available a classroom suitable for the number of delegates attending, with a 240V power supply.
- Please ensure the practical area is free from harm, suitable for training and that it has been risk assessed.
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Summarise the work at height regulations and associated legislation and be fully aware of their legal responsibilities
- Select the correct work equipment and restraint systems to help prevent falls from height thus reducing risk to themselves and others
- Carry out inspections of equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose
- Confidently select and don a harness correctly
